In a corporate PPA, a company purchases electricity directly from a newly built wind- or solar park. The consumer fulfils its sustainability criteria while maintaining a long-term low and stable power price. For the plant owner, the contract secures financing for the new renewable asset. PPAs from renewable assets is promoted by the EU Commission as part of the “Fit-for-55 package to meet the 55% emission reduction target to 2030.
